The Vogue Business and Google Summit returns this November Our second-annual industry summit takes place virtually 10 and 11 November in partnership with Google. What comes next for fashion? After a formative year, former playbooks have been tossed aside. It’s a new way to introduce younger customers to luxury brands. This panel will explore what fashion needs to know. What to know about NFTs What is an NFT? Why does fashion care? How are NFTs being used by brands? Is it just hype or should brands develop an NFT strategy? This session will answer all the questions you have about non-fungible tokens, which have swept across the fashion industry. Resale was supposed to save fashion — has it? Fashion resale has been held up as a sustainable option for customers as well as a solution for brands. But it’s not a silver bullet. This panel will explore why resale’s sustainability promises fall short, and how players can improve the business’s environmental impact. Manufacturing 4.0 Disruptions to the global supply chain have forced fashion to adapt on the fly. This session will explore the new approaches including nearshoring, made-to-order and social manufacturing and how a new phase of manufacturing could give the industry a chance to reset. Future of Beauty and inclusivity: Are we doing enough? The industry has made strides over the past few years, with brands like Fenty catering to a more diverse group of customers, but much of the progress has been made in colour cosmetics and skincare; haircare and other categories have further to go.
